On the annual trip to the British Birdfair in August this year, Ulva went to Ulva Isle in Scotland, near to Iona (just like on Stewart Island!). Ulva Isle is a wildlife anctuary and an absolutely stunning area of the world. This photo was taken at the Ulva ferry jetty with Ulva Ferry skipper Donald (plus Wolf); Ulva and Jamie Howard. The Howard family have owned Ulva Isle for several generations.

Ulva Isle has a rich and ancient history from the Viking days. Sheila's Cottage is a reminder of the days when Ulva Isle had over 600 people living there!..
