NEW: Kiwi Spotting Tour at Mamaku Point
Ulva's Guided Walks has exclusive rights to operate Kiwi Spotting tours at Mamaku Point Conservation Reserve on Stewart Island.
What is Mamaku Point Conservation Reserve?
Mamaku Point is a world-class ecological preserve for native flora and fauna and is located 4km of Oban township on the coastline of Stewart Island.
The Reserve is enclosed by a 2.1km long biosecurity fence to inhibit the movement of non-native mammals into the Reserve. The fence protects over 126 native species, including at least 18 native bird species, scores of native invertebrate species, and one of the highest concentrations of Kiwi for its size.
