- Your acceptance of the terms and conditions outlined are required to process your reservation.
- Full payment and subsequent confirmation by Ulva’s Guided Walks is accepted as confirmation of your booking.
- All bookings incur a non-refundable booking fee.
- Payments forms accepted include all major credit cards. Bank transfers are also accepted – any bank charges are your responsibility.
- All transactions are conducted in New Zealand Dollars (NZD). Due to exchange rate fluctuations, at times there may be some variance in the amounts refunded compared to the amount initially charged. Ulva’s Guided Walks (and associated companies) does not accept any liability for these variances or any subsequent credit card/bank charges relating to these transfers to customers' accounts.
- Minimum numbers are required for all tours. Ulva’s Guided Walks reserves the right to cancel any trip that does not meet the minimum numbers.
- Due to health and safety regulations, Ulva’s Guided Walks reserve the right to deny anyone that is deemed to be physically incapable of completing their booked trip.
Fitness Requirements
Ulva Island Guided Walk:
Sufficient mobility required to step from wharf to boat (equivalent height from floor to seat of a chair) and walk for at least 3 hours unassisted. Terrain includes sandy beach, several intermittent sets of sturdy steps (most without hand-rails) and trails that are undulating with one steep/short climb (optional).
Kiwi Spotting:
Sufficient fitness and agility required to traverse steep inclines and walk in muddy, hilly, uneven conditions in the dark. Not suitable for those with walking difficulties or visual/hearing impairment. Not suitable for children.
Cancellation Policy
We strongly recommend visitors have appropriate travel insurance.
Trip Cancellations by Ulva’s Guided Walks
Ulva’s Guided Walks reserves the right to cancel or amend any walks due to adverse weather conditions or any unforeseen event or circumstance beyond their control. If this occurs, you will be notified and a full tour refund given (booking fees are non refundable).
Trip Cancellations by you
Cancellations between 30 and 14 days before departure – 50% refund.
Cancellations less than 14 days of the trip departure date - no refund will be given.
No shows forfeit 100% of trip cost.
Third Party Operator Cancellation
If a third party operator we use cancels due factors including: adverse weather/sea conditions or circumstances beyond their control, we will assist in finding alternatives, or if no alternatives are possible you will only be charged a $20 administration fee. Any extra costs of alternative travel, accommodation or non-guided activities will be at your cost.
Group Size Amendments – for group bookings of 4 or more people
- If the number of people in the booking needs to be ammended, then it must be done so more than 14 days before the tour departure date.
- Any group size reductions less than 14 days before the tour departure date shall be charged at the original number booked.
- Any group size increases less than 14 days before the tour departure date will not be guaranteed and shall be subject to Ulva’s Guided Walks being able to obtain any additional guides (if necessary).
Waitlist Bookings
If a booking has been waitlisted pending minimum numbers being met and no further bookings have been received by 7 days prior to the requested tour date, Ulva’s Guided Walks will cancel the booking request unless:
- the required additional fare/s are paid to guarantee the tour departure, or
- you agree to swap the booking to an alternative guaranteed tour date/time.
Health and Safety
Ulva’s Guided Walks is committed to maintaining a safe and healthy working environment for the safety and health of our staff, clients and other persons in our work area. Guides have responsibility to stop guiding if they believe the area is unsafe or are unable to continue with the tour in a safe manner. COVID 19 rules have ended in New Zealand, but if you have cold or flu symptoms, please stay at home.
